Constitutional Thinking: Choose freedom

Scanning the sky, we see a Red flag is flying in Washington, D.C. With President Obama signing the Defense Authorization Act, tyranny in the United States is becoming much more visible. Most of the serfs (that’s us) still don’t realize what is going on. If you did not read my recent 5-part American History series, go read it on my website, as this series will build on it.

With more and more Americans waking up, the United States of America, Inc. (not the United States in the Constitution) wants to keep the sheep from getting out of the pen. Their latest threat to us via Congress is the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) that would make unauthorized streaming of copyrighted content a crime with severe penalties.

While I do not advocate stealing, this law would infringe on First Amendment rights, and cripple free speech, more important than pure corporate profits. Corporations have too much power currently. Their rights must be returned to less than We the People. Seventy of the top founders of the internet are on record stating this bill would end the internet as we know it. We can not afford to give up this liberty. Study up and call all your Congressional representatives now!

The history series pointed out how our original Republic ended in 1861 with the onset of the Civil War, fought over taxation and trade, not slavery until well into the war. The Original Thirteenth Amendment preventing persons with titles of nobility (lawyers) from holding office mysteriously disappeared and the current Thirteenth Amendment, supposedly prohibiting slavery took its place in 1865.  In reality, it just outlawed “involuntary slavery.”  That’s important to remember.

Listen to Samuel Adams: “If man, by fear, fraud or mistake, should in terms renounce or give up any natural right, the eternal law of reason and the grand end of society would absolutely vacate any renunciation. The right to freedom, being a gift of God, is not in the power of man to vacate this gift and voluntarily become a slave.”

We unfortunately do not currently have enough statesmen that think to the depth of our Founders, like Adams, because our children attend public school and most of us go to government 501(c) (3) churches. It is a shame most Republicans and Democrats support the public school system. No wonder we have lost much of our original freedom.

Sun Tzu, in his classic work, The “Art of War”, said “if you don’t know your enemy and don’t know yourself, you have no chance of winning.”  Most of us have heard of psychologist Sigmund Freud and his experiment training a dog to salivate by taking them into a room and ringing a bell, then giving him meat. Few know the nasty rest of the study.

In stage two, he took the dog into a room, turned on the light, and beat him with sticks. There was a board the dog could crawl under to not get beaten.  In stage three, he took the dog into the room, turned on the light and rang the bell at the same time. Guess what the dog did? He stood in the center of the room and shook, in a catatonic state, not knowing what to do. That’s where most Americans are now. We know something is very wrong, but not what to do.

The Fourteenth Amendment, ratified by force and intimidation in 1868, provided a framework to change our citizenship from State citizens to Federal citizens. Its working title was “The Civil Rights Act”! Former slaves, previously considered property, now had a status. Citizenship changes in the 1930s and in the Civil Rights Act in 1964 completed our slavery. Please realize that Civil Rights can be taken away. Our enemies have long time horizons.

We originally were citizens of our State first, with rights and duties, and then, secondarily of the United States. Now, everything was reversed. You became a US National, having to reside in the state to be a State citizen. If you think the question of what is your citizenship is isn’t important to understand, consider how often you have to answer that question: when you register to vote, get a drivers license, job, file your taxes, a passport, and open a financial account.

Of course, the State you live in is no longer a State, but a political subdivision of the new corporation, so there is currently no place where you can be a State citizen, except North Carolina.

Newspaper editor Horace Greely, of “Go West, young man” fame said, “We have stricken the shackles from four million human beings (black slaves) and brought all labors to a common level, not so much be the elevation of former slaves as by practically reducing the whole working population, white and black to a condition of serfdom.” To be continued.
