Simply Speaking: Ongoing debate

An ongoing debate fumes within certain segments of our society, especially within political circles, as to whether there is a closer-than-one-might-think connection between certain, various governmental entities, ultimately affecting our tax bill.

This old children’s song* might give a common-sense clue as to how those connections might operate: Oh those bones, oh those bones, oh those skeleton bones. (repeat twice more)

Oh mercy how they scare! With the toe bone connected to the foot bone, and the foot bone connected. To the ankle bone, And the ankle bone connected to the leg bone. Oh mercy how they scare! (repeat chorus) With the leg bone connected to the knee bone, And the knee bone connected to the thigh bone, and the thigh bone connected. To the hip bone. Oh mercy how they scare! (repeat chorus) With the hip bone connected to the back bone, And the back bone connected to the neck bone, and the neck bone connected To the head bone. Oh mercy how they scare! (repeat chorus) With the finger bone connected to the hand bone,  And the hand bone connected to the arm bone, and the arm bone connected To the shoulder bone. Oh mercy how they scare! (repeat chorus) With the shoulder bone connected to the back bone, And the back bone connected to the neck bone, and the neck bone connected To the head bone. Oh mercy how they scare!

This little song, derived from a Bible story, was penned for children (of all ages), and tells the story of how God restored a valley of dead, dry bones back to life for a certain purpose. Read the whole exciting episode in Ezekiel 37.

In today’s world, especially the political one, the story is an example of how things go together and are definitely connected. Most politicians, and those who near-worship them, do not want We the People to know all the details, and this is talking basic details. Many politically active citizens, who have put too much faith in politicians, may not know either, but are allowing themselves to be deceived because of political personalities with whom a special affinity is felt.

Allowing oneself to become too personally tied to politicians is a relationship doomed to failure sooner or later. It is more the duty of the citizen to observe and know the workings of those politicians, who are there to represent you, to do praise when praise is due, but to hold feet to the fire when they come up short. The time to be personally tied to politicians, if that is one’s desire, is when they have stepped down from elected office, after a short time of noble service. But until that time, we should be locked down on issues, conveying them to our officials for their knowledge, information, and better service to us.

May Yahweh God bless us all through Yeshua, Jesus, King of the Universe.
