Jon's Vu: A little funny?
I listen with interest to the debate on raising the nation’s debt ceiling.
I wonder if I can get my creditors to raise my debt ceiling indefinably, that way I could just keep spending till I die, then the people I owe could just keep doling my credit to my heirs?
Of course not, when my credit limit is reached they will cut off my ability to borrow money.
What will happen when we reach this limit as a nation?
When we can no longer borrow money to give away while our people go hungry and live with out the necessities of life?
I am tired of politicians who are not going with out, arguing about raising our debt ceiling without cutting out spending.
Someone asked an old lady on social security what she thought of the president’s proclamation that social security checks would be stopped, her answer, “how bout stopping congresses checks first?”
Yep, that is my answer!
Why are checks to the old folks always Obama’s answer to the nation’s financial problems?
I keep hearing about the U.S. giving a great deal of money to help countries who hate us and would kill us if they could.
Why is it wrong to look at certain people with suspicion, people who have hurt and destroyed our country?
We send food and needed supplies to countries that kill the good folks trying to deliver these life saving things.
This situation would be funny if it wasn’t so terrible!
Just look at the big country paying off bullies to let them give away the things we need here in America.
Who comes to our aid when we have a national disaster?
Do you remember some of the news shot of our enemies celebrating in the streets when 9/11 happened?
Well we are now sending welfare packages and money we borrowed to these people.
We are now not only wasting our resources, we are wasting the money of the people who loan us money.
No, little bird, I am not laughing.
Our country’s leaders are putting on a comedy act that is not at all humorous!
They will never appear on Broadway or a theater near you.
Sadly it almost seems we watch these reruns when our country is suffering.
I get out and vote when it is time, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference who I vote for, either they don’t get elected or they let me down.
Once a long time ago I wrote a column hoping God would please answer an ol’ man’s prayer and send us a real leader who would bring our country together and show real leadership in the world.
My editor at that time said, “JON, it sounds like you are asking for the coming of the Anti-Christ.”
My answer then, as now, at least we could see the end of the mess we are in and the coming of our Lord.
If this sounds funny it’s just JON’S VU!!!
