Simply Speaking: America losing its psyche?

Could it be America has lost its psyche…or is on the verge of doing so?

Presidentially speaking, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama and Carter prior to them seem to be saying so, simply by their getting into position for winning that high office.

The people have lost control of who we select to represent us. It is one of the signs for a people who have lost their psyche.

Webster’s 1948 Collegiate Dictionary defines psyche as the human soul; also, the mind; the mental life.

There are other signs of a depleted national psyche. Somewhere between 9 and 20 percent of Americans seeking work are presently jobless.

Of course our own governments’ intrusions and restrictions on American enterprise play a large part, but let us examine ourselves.

The products we purchase, wear, work with, and use daily and hourly bear the marks of being made available to us through foreign nations and people holding jobs to supply us with some.

Whatever happened to buying from our more immediate neighbors?

Check yourself out on this.

But, similarly to the person ending up on our presidential (or any other) voting ballot, it seems Americans have lost control over who we buy from and who we vote for.

We shop and we vote but seem to have little to nothing to do with the products made available to us once we arrive in the stores or the guy or gal ending up on the ballot.

For sometime now, I’ve been half-joking; half-serious suggesting we secede from the overall humongous mess the US government has become, has gotten itself into, as Oliver Hardy on numerous occasions was wont to say to Stan Laurel, “Well, here’s another fine mess you’ve gotten me into.”

Texas, one day one would be in the top ten of nations the world over in size, economy, technology, energy, you name it. And we would not have a national debt in the double-digit trillions.

The Republic of Texas, as in the original, does have a nice ring to it.

And we might then be able to control other things, like our borders, our debt, who we make our purchases from, and who we get placed on the ballots. If we ever thought big and made such a step, one of the first moves I’d make, if in the position to do so, would be to ally closely with the nation of Israel and with any other nations who liked and respected The Lone Star Nation.

Just kiddin’; NOT!

May Yahweh God bless through Yeshua, King of the Universe.

P.S.: Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God; one and indivisible.
