Letters to the Editor: Thanks to all who participated

I appreciate all the people who came out in the rain to participate in the parade to support the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as we had more than 125 entries in the parade.

Especially all the different schools from Dallas and the southern sectors.

I would like to give a special thanks to Lancaster Independent School District who has supported the foundation since day one.

Our goal would be very difficult to achieve without their support.

Thanks as well to  the ROTC under the direction of Major Mosley who have won nine national championships, and the Lancaster High School Band and their support group.

Previously under the direction of Dr. Thomas and now currently under AD Bonner, band director.

All the politicians, the young people, parents, clubs, other organizations and LISD for the use of their facility.

A special thanks to the Lancaster ISD band who most people came out to see perform.

Mr. Bonner is a very fine director who looks out for his students and he has my un-waivered support; I believe he would have a long career in this field.

We are looking forward to next year and our mission is to have the second largest celebration in Dallas County though parades and programs. So we all can sing Kum ba yah and move forward.

Also thanks to The Ellis County Press, city, county, school board, Lancaster community, Lancaster ISD School Board, Lancaster Martin Luther King, Jr. Committee and other sponsors.

Thanks to DFW Trail Riders Association for sponsoring the food for the last four years.

None of this could be done without any of you.
