Jon’s VU! Little Ricky

I married a lovely woman who had children.

She told me a wonderful story about one of them, little Ricky!

When she had a son, it was wonderful, the answer to her dreams.

When she found, after two years, she could never have another child, she went looking for a brother for her son.

She also found that she might not live to see her son grow up, and did not want him to grow up alone.

She found little Ricky in an orphans home and adopted him.

He was just the brother her son needed.

One day little Ricky came home from the second grade with tears in his eyes.

My love went over and wiped his eyes and asked what the matter was?

Finally he poured out his heart.

The boys in school were teasing him, saying he had no real mother.

Then in her most motherly way my wife put her arms around him, wiped his eyes and said, when your brother was born, I was overjoyed.

My God sent me a wonderful son, he was the joy of my life.

When I found he would be alone, I started looking for a brother.

Out of all the little boys in the country, I chose you.

The other little boys who tease you were picked by God, but you little Ricky were my choice.

Picked to be my son and brother to my other son.

Never let any one look down on you, because you have a REAL mother!!

You see little bird I was on both ends of that story, I was sitting in a dark hallway, a lonely little boy in an orphans home, as lonely as only a forgotten unloved child can be, when this lovely woman walked in, reached down and said, "Jonny would you like to come home and be my little boy?"

I still remember a large lump in my throat, tears in my eyes so I couldn’t answer my mother.

She passed on before

I could ever answer her question, but if I make it to heaven, I pray the Lord to take this lump from my throat and let me tell her, "Yes, mother I will always be your little boy!"

Other folks have different opinions, but this is JON’S VU!!
