DANNY G. HATFIELD, SR.: Creating our own problems

0

Bear in mind the number of problems we have created in America that has led to the downfall of America, let’s consider the cause.  The major cause is man’s defiance against God, what God has instructed man to do as a people and as Christians is quite contrary to those things we do and how we conduct ourselves. The second cause is professed Christian’s lack of understanding of God’s Grace, having abused God’s Grace to the point of creating self-inflicted problems leading to destruction.

What is the purpose of professing Christianity if we choose to willfully and intentionally defy God? God’s Grace does not allow us to defy God yet we still expect God’s mercy and forgiveness. God’s forgiveness for defiance comes only when we repent of defiance and turn from it. When we come to the knowledge of the truth, yet continue in defiance there remains no more sacrifice for that sin, but we will be judged according to our defiance and willful disobedience toward God. So, do not think it is strange when judgment befalls those who defy God, noted in Hebrews 10:26-13

When we truly become Christian, it is our duty as Christians to comply with God’s word in both the do’s and the do not’s. If we refuse to adhere to God’s Word we will be walking in defiance and will suffer the consequences of our own actions.

Jesus Christ did not die to allow us to continue in willful sin; Jesus Christ gave his life to free us from sin, giving us power over sin and ability to walk in holiness.

Considering there are many church doctrines having been developed over the past 2000 years, all being contrary to one another. If these doctrines were not contrary to one another, there would be only one doctrine, the doctrine of truth in Jesus Christ made known to us by the Spirit of Truth. The church would all be of one mind in one accord. It is time we listen to the Holy Spirit concerning God’s Grace and live, if we listen to the doctrines of men contrary to the truth, death awaits us and there will be no mercy.

We understand God’s love is for all, however, we do not understand God’s mercy comes when we repent, God’s Grace comes when we repent, God’s truth comes when we repent, God’s forgiveness comes when we repent, the Holy Spirt comes and dwells within us when we repent, after we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ and forgiven of sin by God; this is our reconciliation to God.

We must understand there is no such thing as a sinner’s prayer, repentance “is not” repeating a 15 second prayer in the words of another; and repentance does not come by words alone, it includes action. Repentance comes when we whole heartedly and sincerely get on our face before the throne of God’s Grace and confess our sins, willfully turning from sin and plead for God’s forgiveness. This may take hours, but when forgiveness comes you will know it, love unspeakable and full of glory enters your soul.

To name a few defiant acts that has created problems in America, wives rebelling against their husband, husbands rebelling against God, children rebelling against parents, parents leaving their God given responsibility to seek a path without God, then we must ask, who is minding the children? We must also ask, how can we profess Christianity when we commit willful sin and reject the truth of God’s Word, God’s Word is from the beginning? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (St. John 1:1) “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (St. John 1:14).

There are two forms of God’s Word, the written word and the Spirit word.  The written word is that which guides us to God; the Spirit Word opens our understanding to the ways of God. “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). We cannot understand the ways of God if we have not the Spirit of God or do not walk in the Spirit!

As a professed Christian do you continue in willful sin, committing adultery, fornication, lying, deceitfulness, acts of homosexuality, betrayal, debauchery, thievery, heresies, sacrilege, unholy acts, drunkenness, wives do you rebel against your husband, husbands do you rebel against God, children do you rebel against you parents? I assure you God’s Grace does not permit or condone any of these acts.

It is time to fall on our face before God and repent. Do not believe you are saved when you abide in pretense, living according to the flesh. “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do  such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:18-21).
