TIM LAUGHLIN: God’s love is not an emotion (part 10)

“Love thinks no evil.” I Corinthians 13:5

The mind of man is the battlefield for spiritual warfare, a place where the enemies of God shoot their flaming missiles. God has given us a mind that rivals the capability of the greatest of computers, able to contain the word of God, filling us with His divine will.

The apostle Paul instructed the Corinthian church on taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. In other words we are to inventory our thought life and expel anything that represents evil.

How do we get control of something inundated with thousands of thoughts, social media and TV, not to mention what the devil tries to inject?

The answer is to love God with all of your mind, meaning all evil, lustful and hateful thoughts must go and be replaced with His word and the peace that comes from knowing and obeying Him will guard your heart.

What’s in your mind?

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath (anger) of God is coming upon the sons (and daughters) of disobedience.”  Colossians 3:2-6
