DANNY G. HATFIELD, SR.: Christ’s return draws near, but not yet! (part 5)

The greatest heresy that lead to the establishment of the apostate church was based on one (1) scripture verse in Matthew, a verse taken entirely out of context and was not established on truth but by interpretation of men that walked in darkness one thousand nine hundred and fifty years ago. This wrongful interpretation of the scripture led to the development of the apostate church having deceived the whole world, today having 1.3 billion members worldwide.

Now let’s consider this scripture by which the entire Roman Catholic religion was established, “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”  So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”.

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ” (Matthew 16:13-20).

The rock spoken of by Jesus Christ has been interpreted by men to be Peter, the rock is not Peter; the rock which Jesus spoke is this, “Upon this rock, Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”

Now Peter was a great Apostle, but Peter was never a Pope and the responsibility given to Peter by Jesus was not to replace Jesus Christ on earth, but to spread the message Jesus Christ is the Son of God and salvation in his name and this by the Spirit.

We must understand the head of the church on earth and in heaven is Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ is God’s salvation for humanity and it is by his shed blood and by the Holy Spirit man is reconciled to God. Those that believe in accept and follow Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, those that repent, are baptized and cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ will receive the gift of salvation the Holy Spirit. Not by religious works or rituals, worshiping idols of gold and graven images and bowing a knee to plaster and metal, lifting a man above God, but by acts of faith, a faith in obedience to God, faith having a greater resolve than the carnal mind can perceive.

Let’s learn of and understand God’s forgiveness and sanctification. “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him (God), and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth. But if we walk in the light as he (God) is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He (God not man) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us” (1st John 1:5-10).

Know this, as followers of Christ everything we do is done in the name of Jesus Christ. “And everything, whatever you may do in word or in deed, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him” (Colossians 3:17).
