WASHINGTON, DC, – “We may have to await Europe’s fall to Islam before the American people open their eyes as to the real threat Muslim immigration poses to democracy,” according to soldier, author and foreign policy expert Lt. Col. James Zumwalt.
Zumwalt made his remarks in an article published less than two weeks ago by WND, an independent online news service, at the height of the controversy in the U.S. over President Trump’s alleged Muslim ban. At least one Islamic leader, imam, Sheikh Muhammad Ayed, told his followers “that Europe and America accept refugees not out of compassion but a need for workers. However, he says Muslim immigrants will only help secure an Islamic caliphate and advises them to breed with Europeans and Americans to achieve this,” Zumwalt wrote.
Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, says he is concerned that the Colonel's clarification of why the U.S. needs to be “wary of the unfettered acceptance of Muslim refugees” has not been more widely disseminated.
“The Trump administration is taking heat for trying to keep America safe,” he says. “Yet, the only voices we hear are those who use his new executive order issued this week to temporarily suspend immigration from six predominantly Muslim countries to denigrate the President. Let’s be clear: Mr. Trump’s ban is temporary and his decision to limit refugee immigrants to 50,000 this year is prudent and allows for proper vetting. We are facing a very clear and present threat from unchecked refugees and the voice of reason must prevail. If not, the chaos in Europe created by politically correct immigration policies will spread to America.”
Even the Washington Post admits that refugees bent on acts of terror pose a real danger to peace and stability, Weber points out. In an article published in the paper last month it described how teen-age refugees in Europe are wreaking havoc there. “The threat presented by the Islamic State is taking on a new form: child terrorists either directly in contact with or inspired by the militant group.”
Weber says there is plenty of evidence that Islamic terrorists enter the U.S. in the guise of refugees. “Remember the Somali immigrant who attacked horrified students at Ohio State University with a butcher knife last November. In 2016, we also saw mass stabbing attacks by Muslim immigrants at a delicatessen in Ohio and a mall in Minnesota as well as bomb attacks in New York and New Jersey by an Afghan immigrant. Indeed, the inscription at the base of the Statue of Liberty reads: ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’ But, it says nothing about those yearning to destroy our way of life.”
